Puppetry-
—sometimes defined as “The art of bringing to life an inanimate object” is one of the most exciting forces in theater. Its ability to play with the edges of reality lends it to works for not only the traditional child audience, but for innovative works for the adult.
We have tried to put together this website so that it will be helpful for people who are working on their puppetry. Each picture on the left will take you to a project that our designer, Mary Robinette Kowal, has worked on, both for Other Hand Productions, and other theaters she has free-lanced for. Each page has additional links to the techniques used to create or perform with the puppets.
Here are a few additional resources that you might find helpful.

Puppet Appreciation This is a great site targeted at 6th graders. It is primarily focused on bunraku, but does a really nice job of covering how to watch puppetry intelligently.
I’m also happy to answer questions that you can’t find the answer to anywhere else. I need questions that are more specific than “Can you help me make a puppet?” So- after you’ve checked the internet, and your local library feel free to contact me.
